Pioz-30 is an oral antidiabetic medication that primarily works by reducing insulin resistance. It is used for managing type 2 diabetes mellitus (commonly referred to as non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus [NIDDM] or adult-onset diabetes). Pharmacological research suggests that Pioz-30 enhances insulin sensitivity in muscle and fat tissue while also suppressing hepatic gluconeogenesis. As a result, Pioz-30 aids in improving glycemic control while lowering circulating insulin levels.

 

Pioz-30 is recommended as an additional treatment alongside diet and exercise to enhance glycemic control in those with type 2 diabetes (non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, NIDDM). It can be used alone or in combination with a sulfonylurea, metformin, or insulin when diet and exercise along with a single medication do not achieve satisfactory glycemic control.
